As far as I am concerned knee high boots should only be worn due to cold or wet weather conditions. In general I see these type of boots as more a female footwear type as I can't imagine many men wearing them.

A man that know's his boots ! Wesco is top notch for sure.
I myself am not into the knee high style but I work in an office. I do wear one of my 3 pair of White's Semi-Dress boots every day though. I think they are at the 6" level. My wife has a combination of shorter boots (Wolverine 1000 mile) and a custom pair of knee high White's Lady Packer's. And several other pairs of lesser quality boots.

So, Whats wrong with a guy wearing a pair of carhartt heavy duty while working in snow.

High heel boots. Wear them with vintage western clothes . John Wayne used to wear it, and that's as manly as a guy can get:

If a guy is working or riding a horse the rules are different, but otherwise knee-high boots are a big NO.
