My apologies, Philo.... Just taking a guess, not a psychological assessment. So now I am thinking that someone you deem as "ugly" has criticized you?

It was absolutely devastating. I've never felt so fragile in my entire life

The problem does not seem to be the criticism, but that an "ugly" have dared to say something to someone!

The sentiment in the OP is similar to the way we might perceive a black person talking trash about latinos, or a paraplegic making fun of the blind. In these scenarios as well as in the case of an "ugly" person making fun of someone's looks, the thought does cross your mind "he should know better" because of a shared struggle. Again, any objectification or belittling is wrong, there is just another layer involved in these cases. A morbidly obese individual insulting fat people for their weight does come off differently than a fit or average weight person doing the same. Both are wrong, but you can't deny it would be a normal thought to wonder "how can that humongous person have the nerve to criticize others for being fat?!" That's the concept I understood from the OP.

Yes.

People should treat others as the other person likes to treat people. Since you like objectifying people as ugly, I think it's completely appropriate for so-called ugly people to objectify you.

So who is making the decision on who's ugly and who's beautiful?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Not trying to me a smart aleck but what does "objectify" mean?
