I've had this knuckle-cracking habit that's been going on for a long time, over 5 years to be more specific. It never really affected me until now. I now have redness around the skin of my knuckles. I'm not sure what to call it...dry skin...dead skin? I tried to put Noxzema on it but it didn't anything to help it. Any ideas?
Edit: I wasn't sure if this was the right forum, it seemed the most appropriate.
I doubt that cracking your knuckles has anything to do with reddened skin. You might have acquired dry skin or maybe eczema. If you want a proper diagnosis, then you need to see a dermatologist. But you could try putting a moisturizer on the reddened skin, particularly at night before bed. You could also try using Aquaphor or Vaseline; apply over the skin at the night.
If the reddened skin is itchy, it is probably eczema.
