Recently had my first shellac gel manicure, loving it so far, but would like to try one of the at home kits. Has anyone tried any? The one called Gelish looks like a good contender. I figure after the initial investment, I would recoup that in less than two months. The lamps can be found inexpensively on Amazon; any suggestions there would be appreciated as well.

I love the shellac manicure too...have been getting them off and on now for a year.I usually get 3 weeks out of a visit...lately I've been getting the french, it's great because it's very hard to see the growth line at the cuticle. Last time I was there they used a lamp that I only had to put my hand in for 30 seconds a coat...which was fantastic! I would like to try an at home one but I think I would miss the pampering!LOL!

I know, isn't it just the greatest invention since the cell phone. LOL. I jujstcouldn't stop trying to be careful when the manicurist was done and she kept saying stop that, you're all done, you can touch anything, reach in your pocket if you want, no problem

I basically wanted it to prevent the constant nail chipping I've had going on since I stopped getting tips over a year ago. I got a shimmery clear color, I've never been so happy, just knowing I don't have to worry about that whole lifting and water getting under the bed either. my nails usually grow quite fast when I've had tips on, so with the clear, I'm hoping I'll still get be able to sustain just a bit over the two week period, if not, I'll go ahead and spend the money for the twice a month visit till I find an at home kit that works well.

I wached the video for the Gelish and the reviews on Amazon, seem to be pretty good for it.
