Dr. Anthony Youn said a few years ago I interviewed a handyman to do some work on my house.

I noticed a teardrop tattoo at the top of his left cheek. Prior to hiring him, I searched online for what this design signified. My mouth dropped when I found out.

A teardrop tattoo can mean he murdered someone.

In the United States, it can mean the wearer has killed someone.[3] The number of teardrops may indicate the number of years spent in prison, or the number of times the wearer was raped.[1] It may also indicate time spent in prison or the loss of a loved one or fellow gang member.[1]

Anyway, yes, I would normally avoid someone that you do not know well that has a teardrop tattoo. Some may just be posers, or they could actually be a reformed person.. but you never know these days.
