Maybe there's some law of physics at work here....Im not sure if I want to test it out with some of the purses I carry. My purse needs its own seat (they're huge). But hey if it works, then thats definitely a great solution. BTW, I just saw this on the shopping network? style network? Not sure but they just featured these on T.V.

Yes, I was wondering if they are like those little portable kiddie seats that were invented back in the 80's.

The Purse Hanger Store has some that fold up into a little circle, as well as the normal hook type. Purse Hanger - Purse Hook - Purse Holder

My mom got me one of the folding types from there, and it is really pretty, and holds my heavy purse for sure. My mom is an older lady though and she carries a mammoth beast of a bag, and she has the hook type, which feels much sturdier. It's also really pretty and comes in a little pouch.

Overall they are pretty solid. We have both had ours since Aug with no probs.

I've seen them used and even bought my mother one. I wish I had one many of times when out eating and stuck trying to fit my handbag SOMEWHERE! They are rather inexpensive and sure beat laying your purse on the floor. They also come in TWO sizes so if you have the BIG MAMA bag you just the heavier stury one. All of the ones I've seen the little flower or whatever on top swivels down to lay flat w/ the hook part and some come w/ a little velvet bag or box to put it in inside your bag. It is one of those laws of physics how they work. Although I've sat at some tables that it probably would have tipped the table over.

I've seen them at Dillard's and Brighton has some as well. I think they make great gifts for Mother's Day, teachers, etc.

I usually hang mine on my knee...but it's on the small side. If it's a day bag it is usually heavy enough to put over the chair arm or back.

I bet the creators of this invention would make lots more money if they were sold to the restaurant owners, then the restaurant owners could somehow mount them on the tables permanently. Not a bad idea.

There's a girl in my college history class that uses one of those every day. They're pretty neat and seem surprisingly sturdy!

I think these came out after the news was reporting about dirty restaurant floors, bathroom floors, etc. I have seem them numerous times, and they seem to work real well.

I got my super cute leopard print purse hanger from Hang Accessories, its foldable and has a mirror. They have a website http://www.hangaccessories.com but it doesn't show all of their designs that I've seen in store. Looks like their myspace does, myspace.com/hangaccessories. The purse hanger is tiny but it totally works with my GIANT MJ bag. I've heard all that stuff about germy floors etc. so I've been trying to carry it around with me everywhere. I love it! Considering how many of my pricey bags have had their bottoms worn and damaged (esp. white bags) this is well worth it. Its keeping my new MJ looking good : )
