I'm not sure what else one would wear with shorts besides stylish soft leather loafers. Sandals I suppose if you are on a coastal town. Flip flops are never a good look for men away from a beach, and sneakers / running shoes with shorts (or jeans), well, I just don't know what to say about that. Obviously this is meant for if you are interested in looking stylish. If you are a middle aged man in middle america, I don't think costco is going to stop you from wearing sneakers with your shorts on your saturday morning shopping trip.
