Remember the chunky heels from the '90s? yuck. What was the matter with us?

The worst style from the '80s were the big plastic glasses, which I wore as a kid. Horrible!

Today's fashion is HORRIBLE!
Best was in the 80's : women had beautiful hair, like lionesses, back then not the thin sloppy pretense of hair they have now!
and tattos and piercings....so VULGAR!

80s rule when it comes to women's fashion....if any woman wears something like this today, i would walk up and ask to take a pic with her...a must have!!

The 80s fashion was a disaster for everyone - male or female. It was horrible.

The 90s fashion was better for women. Less makeup and more natural beauty.

The 2010s fashion are a big improvement for men. They got over the awful 'emo' and 'punk' hairstyles and outlook of the 2000s.

This. I didn't think anything could put the 70s to shame until the 80s came along. 90s, /meh. 00s+ I agree, men are faring well thanks to the metro movement.

I think 80s fashion for men was much more bland than people remember today. If someone tries to dress "80s style" today for a man, they would wear some crazy parachute pants and jacket with lots of zippers or something else outrageous.

The reality was that men wore jeans and t-shirts or jeans and polo/Izod shirts with sneakers. The jeans fit not too loose or too tight (mainly Levis 501s) and shoes were usually Pumas or Nikes. I do remember wearing jeans until they were faded out and the knees ripped out.

Eh. Every decade has their stuff that people are going to look back on and groan at. It's interesting to think about what current fashions are going to become the side ponytails, scrunchies, and acid wash high-waisted mom jeans of tomorrow. Because there will be looks that have that fate.

When designers pick a "retro look" to make a comeback, they don't go with the ugliest trend of that decade, they go for what worked. That's why you've got a reemergence of Sperry Topsiders, but guys aren't wearing pastel blazers (unless they are hip hop impresarios), mullets, or any number of other things that were of that same era, but got judicously cherry picked around when deciding what retro look to go with.

90s was the best for formal, by far.
