fashionable or not, this would depend more on your spouse/boyfriend. if he likes body hair (armpits, pubic, and even arms or legs), then wouldn't you want to keep it? generally i have found that women like to please their men so i don't see how "fashion" would figure into it unless you plan on being single and/or finding a guy who absolutely agrees with your view on body hair.

every girl i have dated, i have asked her to not remove any body hair AND not use deodorant when we are in private. for me, i enjoy the smell and taste of a woman's body as well as seeing underarm and pubic hair. none of them refused my request because they knew that sex/physical pleasure was very important to me and they always wanted to see me happy. i suppose i was just lucky in that i only dated girls who were open to keeping armpit/leg/pubic hair. i suppose you could call it a fetish but would it still be a fetish if society celebrated not shaving? i'm not a fan of such a label being applied to what was always the case for most of human history (keeping body hair).

trimac20: so, no, men like me would not reject "those from the 19th century and before." the question really is, is the girl comfortable and ok with being a miscreant by violating social taboos (keeping hair on legs or arms, etc.)?

oleg bach: nothing more terrifying that a stubbly man kiss from a woman.

uh, yeah. that's pretty bad dude. heh.

Not imposing on anybody here, but I prefer women to be reasonably waxed, especially at the underarms.

It all depends on how the hair feels to touch though.

And its better to wax, not shave. Shaving blades damage skin conditions at the underarm.

Or do you think this norm is so entrenched (even though it's barely 100 years old in the West) that we'll never be able to 'go back'?

I know what you may be thinking. Ewww, no way, that's unimaginable, but remember for 99.9% of human history that was the way we lived, and times change.

A question for men, do you think you could get over your conditioning and find a woman with hairy legs, armpits.etc sexually attractive or aesthetically pleasing?
Hell no. Not me, never.

No. I think it's necessary. At least for me. I won't judge what any other woman does. But for me personally, I won't NOT do it.

I don't think it is up to any of us to speak for every woman out there.

People are going to choose to do what ever they choose to do.

I do think we as cultures would benefit greatly from stopping the continuing of the shaming of any one who embraces their natural self no matter who or what they are.

No. Absolutely not. A hairy woman (hairy legs, hairy arms, hairy armpits, hairy busy privates, etc.) is NOT going to be someone that many men find "sexually appealing" as you say. I would actually be turned off by it even if she had a sexy (i.e., fit/curvy) body. To me it falls in the category of being well groomed and taking care of one's personal hygiene.

No. Im sure people will say "Oh but in parts of Europe.......blah blah...." or "Back in olden days......blah blah blah..." to try to make some ridiculous point about it being "normal" or "accepted" back then, but no one is talking about villagers from Europe, or the 1930s or before, we are talking about today's woman and what today's MEN find attractive and sexy.

There are always some one the fringes who may find it attractive though. Like if you go to a porn site there will be a small category of "Hairy" for those few with hairy fetishes. And, there will people who say ridiculous things like "Oh it looks prepubescent....blah blah blah..." which I have always found fascinating because there is NOTHING about a grown sexy woman that could be "prepubescent" just because they shave/wax.
