I'd go with the flip flops if it were me. As long as the tops of your feet won't blind everyone in sight, there's nothing wrong with that look! I am 27, but I guess if I were 10+ years older, I would be more inclined to go with the sandals.

Sandals.

I hate this fad of people wearing flip-flops in public. I think they are best suited to the beach or home.

If you are going someplace casual enough that you feel like shorts are appropriate then I think the leather flip flops are too. Cheap plastic flip flops are a different story. Plus I think those sandal are pretty hideous.

I am philosphically opposed to flip flops and sandals. I have long railed against this trend. I like sneakers and socks.

Either. Some of it depends on the style of the sandals or flip flops. There are a lot of variations of each. Also some of it is regional. Some areas are more uptight about casual fashion than others.

Personally, I wear nicer looking flip flops most of the summer. Sandals, occasionally. I'm also tan and I have nice looking feet. Bad feet should stay in shoes.

Just my own opinion, but those sandals--WTF? Those things have nothing going for them. I wouldn't walk out of my house in those things. The soles are too fat, the footbed looks like it's overflowing, the straps are just weird, and worst of all, the design can't even be excused by ergnonmics. Those stupid lifted toes that have cursed footwear over the last few years, cause a natural tilting back of the posture when standing, which requires a fatter heel to counteract.

If you have to chase a robber or get away from an assassin on the beach - flip flops will not do.

Anything called "flip flop" sounds extremely unstable...also that thing between your toes and the constant curling of the toes in an attempt to keep this weird foot ware on your feet...Nawh....I want to walk I don't want to flip nor do I like to flop.

Who cares, men should wear what is comfortable for them. My husband only wears sneakers unless we are going to a formal gathering, wedding or funeral then he wears cowboy boots.

Not sure how that would work in court. I keep a spare tie in the car at all times just in case I have to go into court unexpectedly, seen too many attorneys get sent back to their offices. The only time I've forgotten it at least the judge just chewed me out at sidebar after session. I suspect sneakers wouldn't go over any better.
