Boat Shoes. Top Siders, Dock Siders etc. No one really wants to see men's feet.

Regular flip flops I guess if they are going to the beach or painting something.

Feet must be very well groomed. I just do not like sandals on men. It's creepy.

On women? When their feet are well groomed. Same. But I have never gotten the whole idea of sandals on men.

I can't wear flip flops. I've never been able to stand having anything between my toes.

That has to be the most inappropriately overused word in the English language these days. There's nothing wrong with a dude wearing sandals if that's what he wants.

I am not sure what I feel the cut off age is and it is not the number so to speak but the overall look. Though again I think people should wear what they want I have seen some younger guys who drag their feet in flip flops and just look a mess in my opinion. In general I am not a fan of feet. If they are well manicured and kept it is one thing but many are not.

closed toe Huaraches are a better choice if you lke letting your dogs breath all summer long. they go with shorts, trunks, or slacks. They also come in more colors

Either is fine, but I prefer flip flops, which I do love to wear around alot.

When I lived on the east coast I'd only wear flip flops or sandals if I was at the shore. I'd wear them walking to and from the beach and on the sand only if the sand was burning hot. Otherwise I'd wear socks and sneakers with shorts. The only other exception would have been at a pool or water park, although at water parks I'd usually wear water shoes.

Since moving to AZ that has changed, since i now wear shorts a lot more. If I'm going to be out for a whole day doing a lot of walking I still wear sneakers. Around the house I'll slip on the flip flops if I'm going out in the yard or for a quick run to the grocery store. But I also have more substantial sandals that I wear when appropriate, which here is often.

Back east seeing guys in anything open toed anywhere but the beach or pool never seemed appropriate, but here it's much more the trend and doesn't seem out of place at all.

However...wearing either with long pants, to me, looks ridiculous, and even in AZ I rarely see that.

Neither. I prefer "boat shoes" like Sperry Topsiders or Rockports.
