Hi everyone, i am new to the forum and i am really looking for some help and advice and hopefully to make a few online friends. My story is complicated and i am not sure how i will be received on here as many people assume im a freak or something, but im a normal person that has been dealt a bad hand and i am just trying to cope with it the best i can, please give me a chance .

Ok well i am a 33 year old male, just over 3 years ago i was diagnosed with a major hormone disorder which effected my male hormone receptors, in short i became unable to absorb testosterone. The testosterone was then being converted into estrogen which my body was able to absorb, for those who know anything about hormones you will know for a man this is very bad i have tried every type of treatment and seen 6 different specialists but my condition was diagnosed as untreatable about 2 years ago.

Obviously my whole life changed, i lost friends and family and have been assaulted on 3 occasions, i received so much abuse in the area i was in i moved about 6 months ago to start a new life. But i am trying to start a new life living as a woman I have changed so much over the past 3 years that i seen this as my only option to be accepted, and i admit i have excepted and like some of the changes now.

My problem is i have no friends at the minute and i am finding trying to become a woman very hard, im struggling with make-up and clothing and all things female lol i really would love some help and advice and maybe a friendly person to talk to at times ? so if anyone would like to help or even if you want to know more than please reply i would be so appreciative

Thank you xx

I don't have any advice but I wanted to offer you a cyber hug. It's bad enough when life deals hands like this. You don't need jerks on top of that.

We might be able to help more if you posted specific questions.

Thank you yes the world is full of people who judge and lash out at anything they do not understand, its sad but reality well i guess i need so much help i dont know what to start with lol.

Make-up i guess is so hard for me, i struggle with colour matching and so on, i am fair skinned and blue eyed, i have tried to pick up hints and so on from you tube but my internet is rubbish so i cannot really get much, so i want to know what colours would suite me and what make-up i actually need i.e foundation eyeliner and so on, its actually really complicated.

Again a big thank you and a hug is well received xx

I hope you're getting some good mental health treatment. I don't quite understand how trying to live as, and identify as, a female would be the way to go, if your gender identity is and always has male. What you describe is different from being transgendered--a person born biologically one gender but feeling (strongly and all their life) inside that they are the other gender. Did you even feel like a female before this hormonal problem started? Or were you always quite content to be male? You say you like some of the changes now, but it's important how that change came about. I just hope you're getting some help, whether you choose to pursue this direction or not. I don't know you at all, but this story make me worry about you.
There's a famous case of a boy who was raised as a girl after an accident castrated him during infancy. All his life, this girl felt like a boy inside and did not feel comfortable at all with the female identity. A lot of damage was done psychologically, and eventually he found out what had happened to him, and an adult he was finally able to live as a man.
So it makes me wonder that if a physical condition resulting in a child having to live as the opposite gender could be so difficult and damaging, would it be even more difficult and damaging for an adult, who is not transgendered, to make that change, in respond to a physical condition?

I'm sorry, I know you posted in "fashion & beauty" and you're more interested in how to improve a "female" appearance, but I had to toss my reaction out there. I know that transgender people face a lot of problems with acceptance, but at least they have a decent support system these days, and a growing community of other transgender people. But I wonder if that community would accept you, or reject you, saying you're choosing the female identity more as a convenience than as a gender identity issue.
I wish you well, and I hope you're making a decision that's really right for you.

And you lost family and friends because of a hormone disorder? I don't know, and have ever known anyone who would dump a person because of a hormone disorder. Everyone I have ever known would rally around that person. I don't get it.

And lastly, I don't get what is untreatable about a hormone disorder. Here, have some hormones to supplement the one's you are losing. Menopausal women, and many other people do it all the time - very common.

I don't know, this smells wrong.
