It seems most preferences are regional. I expect Boston men to be more "preppy" and South Floridians and those among warm climates to be" beachy." Naturally what others don't like others are fine with and vice versa.

I don't have an issue with most of the items posted here—besides the half shirt/crop top (which I thought only existed on my Ken Doll when I was a kid): Either wear a full shirt or no shirt at all. For the most part, I think men's clothes are typically functional, have a place and are fine as long as they're worn in the right setting (i.e. flip flops, etc. on hot days), those that suit them (i.e. skinny jeans, fitted shirts on fit men), or in moderation. (i.e. A gold and/or silver chain is fine, but wearing several is tacky.) I suppose a Hawaiian shirt in Minnesota is out of place, but not in Hawaii if you're Tom Selleck portraying "Magnum, P.I."

Well said LexWest. I agree that it all depends on where you live.

I read in the paper that flip flops were for pool and beach wear. Otherwise, sandals are more appropriate. Therefore, I wear flip flops around the house and in the yard but when I go somewhere, I got some nice leather sandals on sale at Nordstroms. I do think they look better, especially with shorts.

I had JNCO Jeans in Jr. High.

I used to call them "Aaliyah" pants, because no matter how tight I set the drawstring (there was no belt buckle), the waistband always landed on my hips, showing my underwear. I usually wore them with hoodies.

I'm glad that phase didn't last long.

Anyone here say skinny jeans yet? Blech! And then when they're all sagging by the butt and tight around the ankles it's horrible

The spouse used to wear white athletic socks with hiking boots and shorts. Everywhere, not just on the trail.

He also had a yellow and baby blue plaid sport jacket; that never left the house, though.

Although I'd give anything to see him wearing either getup, or any other one, again.
