$400 is the max. There is a Chloe bag for about a thousand that I've been looking at though. I will probably buy it used for about $400 if I can find it.

Look it really depends on you pocket. But the main thing is if you like it or not. If you like it and it is in your budget than this is the best combination ever.

I very seldom carry a purse if I have side pockets in my slacks/shorts. All I need is a place for my keys, cell phone, and small holder for driver's license and one credit card.

When I was carrying a purse around all the time, all the stuff I had in the purse was never used anyway.

So as to how much would I spend if I were to buy a purse? Not more than $20.

My max is $250, but usually I won't pay more than $80. I find I can't get a leather purse of any quality for less than that (and that is usually a reduction at a store like Marshall's). I have to have leather. I also am a Coach person and have in the past paid quite a bit, but no longer. I have five and they will serve for years to come. The black classic bucket tote is my absolute favorite and it is my travel MUST. More recently I have become a fan of Patricia Nash and paid $250 for a purse (several hundred for the matching wallets, zippered bags, etc.). I guess in the end it has a lot to do with falling in love with a bag and having the $$ at the time and then asking yourself if you need it or want it. Usually that simple question settles it for me and I can walk away. If I fall in love with a bag and 'have to have it', wanting it is enough and I return the next day for it.

The purse I'm using now was $5.99 on clearance. I've been using it for over 7 years now.

I do have a Dooney and Also a Lauren bag that were a steal. Two Pradas. Sold my Guccis.

Mom will pay a grand or two for one she likes, but her collectiton is pretty solid and hasn't bought on in awhile.

My bag lust? Hermes Birkin and Lauren Rickey.

Love to see this thread revived! I haven't purchased a purse in while-last one was a MK that matched my wristlet. It was almost $300. I barely carry it though-only when we go out to nice dinners, etc. I still have my small LV with the matching wallet stored in the closet. I really should take it out once in a while. It's absolutely pristine but where in Denver do I take it??? UGH

I tend to always want (genuine) leather, so I'll comfortably pay $100 - $200 generally, especially if that's the sale price from a much higher price.

My max is about $10. I use it then get rid of it. I can't afford expensive bags.
