It would seem to me that 40 or 50 bucks and you could score a decent bag.......
I actually bought my last bag at Target. But I have spent $300 (each) on 2 bags when I went to Paris. That was really my only shopping I did there, so I didn't feel too bad about it.

I just bought a Fossil, and paid about $115 for it, on sale. That's more my average. But I hate buying bags...I'm so picky that I hold on to them until they fall apart.

About $50. For the posters saying they love Coach, what makes them better than any other bag? Are they somehow superior, or is it just the name?

I have had good experiences with my Coach bags. They have lasted a while, and for the one that didn't, I sent it in for repair, and Coach gave me store credit for the full value of the bag. After I had it nearly 2 years.

I am a fan for life, since they exhibited excellent customer service in our disposable society.

Even when I was buying cheaper bags, I'd keep them for several years. I usually change mine out with the seasons. And I prefer cross body bags for every day.

I paid $146 for my Fossil, and it is the most I've ever spent on a bag. I usually try to find bags at discount.

I love Fossil too. I found one three or four years ago on sale at Macy's and I still use it. I've tried to find another one like it, but haven't been able to. Seems like they change styles quickly.

I buy my bags at garage sales. The most I've paid for a bag was $9.99.

Hey friend..
How much should I spend on a hand bag totally depends on the quality of bag. If the bag is branded one and has got amazing design, it would of course cost me more compared to the unbranded one. There are many amazing hand bag in India online. I always purchase these lifestyle products from online stores because in that way I get the best hand bag of very fashionable designs. I also get amazing deals there.

myself? $30.

however, my boyfriend's mom always buys me a coach purse with matching wallet for christmas every year. I don't get why she does that since I am just not a purse girl. And I end up ruining them, I think.

Up to $90 for a second-hand, Made in USA leather bag on Etsy or eBay. This accomplishes two things:

1. Gives a quality leather purse a new home.
2. Keeps my money out of the new-retail stream.

I have to add:
It's amazing what passes for "long-lasting" on this thread. "Oh, I buy XXX Brand all the time! The last one I bought, it lasted me practically two solid years!"

<RANT> People, quality things should last for decades, if not generations. Has no one taught you that? <RANT>

As it much as it takes to get what I want. 1000-2000. On average I stay in the 100-200 price range. I adore designer bags and refuse to buy any thing less. I on occasion do buy vera Bradley for the beach or to take downtown. I normally buy coach buy I also have Louis vuitton bags and plan on buying more as well as gucci and balenciagia.
