Question for guys - do you like naval piercings? Or do you consider them trashy?

Meh. Depends on the belly.

I also just like a simple hoop. Not all kinds of junk hanging off it.

I'm not a guy, but piercings seem like a lot of hassle; getting it caught on stuff, like in your hair, or on your clothing, and so on.
Then there's the occasional psycho, that likes to rip out people's piercings when they get mad, or just because. O_o

Also if you get really drunk, and forget to remove them before you pass out, or go to bed, it might get pulled out and/or hang on bedding, when you roll over.

Are people in the Navy even allowed to have piercings? Or do you mean piercings with Naval Insignia?

Sorry... couldn't resist!

I was wondering the same things. I guess after you are discharged you might want a USN pin on your piercing.

I got my navel ring about 15years ago, but haven't thought of permanently taking it out. I guess maybe I will as I get older, but I barely even notice it's there anymore.

what sort of hair do you expect to get caught in a belly piercing?

I consider holes in one's skin as something to be avoided, not put there intentionally, particularly if the purpose of the hole is to allow the insertion of some kind of hardware to dangle there or injecting ink.
