I can't stand 'em in a restaurant...esp. since so many people slip them off while eating.

But I don't think it's a 'recent college grad' phenomenon as I see many people who appear way past that age wearing them, esp. but not solely (G) in Florida.

I can't imagine slapping around a theme park for hours in a pair but people do that too. Ouch.

Excuse me?

I've been in IT for 30 years. Perhaps it's a regional thing or particular company; I've never worked for a company that allowed that kind of casual dress. I wouldn't want to work for any place that did. Flip flops are fine for the beach, but gross, otherwise. I've seen the nastiest looking feet with those on.

It is always the fat girl in the office that is hot.

Every office has one. We have ours. I too think they are totally inappropriate even for the casualest (sp) of offices.

I find them tacky, but the fat girl is always hot, so what can you do......

Really, this is an OSHA issue, and possible Workers Comp issue...safety, injury, all that..

Flip flops are a hazard. More risk of slip, fall, I suggest all foot wear should be steel toe boots.

Now, that would be interesting memo..."black steel toe boots are now required uniform attire for all positions, non compliance will be written up, three write ups, immediate termination.".

It depends on person to person . Some find flip flops comfortable .
Besides your knowledge doesn't showcase on how you dress and crap. !

Can't run in them, feet get dirty, they don't protect your feet and worst of all, we the general public gets to look at these out of shape dudes with their surfer shirts and flip flops with pasty white legs, gross ugly untrimmed toenails and nauseating edema marks from the socks they were wearing earlier.
hanks for that glowing discription! Where is this office? I sure hope it is not open to the general public.
