I agree They are pretty comfy once you get them on, unlike a girdle. Its just too much of a hassle for me at times because I don't like to fight with my underwear & sometimes when I do I break a nail which hurts

Definitely....
They "create a smooth silhouette" of the wearer, "cinching" in the right places.
Yes, they are perfect to be worn under a slim fitting dress.
I don't wear them myself, but my best friend does.
She instantly looks 2-3 sizes smaller...comes in handy, when the forever lasting and memorable wedding pictures are taken...huh!!!

My biggest issue (I have never tried them) is in theory.. if your cinching and squishing yourself into something smaller... where does it go? when you wear a tight top it squishes you to the bottom.. when you're wearing tight jeans, it squishes up... so you can't ever wear tight jeans + small shirt, or tight shirt + small pants... mixmatching combinations are ok.. I have this really tight fitting awesome pair of jeans that I can wear, but I have to wear a sweater over them or something - otherwise, the "great looking jean fit" is lost when you see the rest.. lol. Any of you have this problem?

I agree with all of the above posters. it would be ideal for certain dresses and outfits you want to look slimmer under, but on the same hand, I would rather just slim down entirely and not have to fight your underwear.

I have a pair....thing is the same as everyone mentioned....hard to get into, god forbid you have to use the bathroom...those little stalls don't leave much room to shimmy in and out of a pair of Spanx

As far as where does it go......basically it is just compressed...not really moved. It is not like a tube of toothpaste

I heard that wearing things that push your skin together, such as spanx, will cause stretch marks, anyone else hear this?

love em love em love em! wore the the other night with my jeans, during sorority rush we wore them with all our little dresses to avoid the panty lines, I dont think they are uncomfy at all... but if your trying to conceal a tummy youll need the long ones that come up to your breasts if you jsut want smoothe lines with a dress the short ones work wonders especially for light colored dresses!

Where does she disappear to? Does she get compressed or pushed into a better direction?

No, stretch marks are from the skin growing and stretching too fast, like when you gain weight quickly or go through a pregnancy -- not from spanx.

Or work out to much, that you "bulge" up way to fast, and the skin can't keep up.
I agree.......that's the way we end up with those pesky strech marks...huh.....
