If he looks right for it then it's sexy.

Yes, Jason Statham is a nice example.

I really, really dislike it. Almost instant turnoff. I've never understood why men with plenty of hair shave it off on PURPOSE! It changes the entire look and just isn't sexy. If it's just natural hair loss, it doesn't bother me nearly as much at all.

I realize this is pretty shallow of me, but I can't shake it. It's just one of those things.

I actually get where you're coming from. Like I said, it depends on the guy.

I'd say, if a man is balding from around the temples but still has hair above his forehead, he should NOT shave his head. My second cousin shaves that part (where he still has hair) and looks much less attractive afterwards!

IMO, don't go bald (on purpose) if your hair outline looks like this (there is still hair left on the top of your head and it could still make you look attractive):

Go bald when your 'hair' looks like this:

I have a shaved head now for the last 14 years. It looks fierce, and I cannot ever imagine wanting hair again.

I also have a dark close crop beard, and i am in shape, so for me, it rocks.'

Shaved head over it most times?

Not an issue for me at the moment. I have a full head of hair. But i have older family members this is an issue.
It may be an issue for me in 10-15 years when i'm in my 40's who knows.

I looks good on some men, but not all. It is very iffy on white guys. More often than not, I don't like it. Short haircuts, I'm ok with, but a shiny knobby white head is not very good looking, to me. I think a lot of men look like turtles with shaved heads.

There was a study done about this very subject a couple of years ago, and published in a sociological science journal or something. I remember reading about it, anyhow.

The study found that women preferred complete baldness over most stages of partial baldness, but not over a full head of hair. Bald men were seen as more masculine and dominant than the partially bald ones.

I tend to agree but with the caveat that some men can pull off bald a whole lot better than others. It also depends on what kind of a guy you really are...in other words, there are loads of other factors that are more important than what's going on with your hair. But if all of those other things are in order, then a choice to go full bald may be a meaningful one.

I think most people I know agree that full bald is better than the "fringe" or the "combover." Although a guy can certainly get away with some receding, often for years, before it begins to matter.
