Are you having trouble getting a first date? Because I'm pretty sure if that is not a problem, then it is unlikely that women would avoid a long term relationship with you because of your ears.

On the flip side, you could always visit a cosmetic surgeon and see what is involved. Many of them give free consults. If the procedure is minimally invasive and doesn't cost much, why not just find out?

Get them done, it's cheaper than therapy and way more effective as well. Course the flip side is women think you may be packing some serious hardware, you know, big feet, big nose... all of that other silliness....

Not a big deal to me, but if your going to alter your body to that extent do it for you and nobody else.

I don't know anyone that had that done but a cousin of mine has ears that are kind of big and he always wears his hair long.

If it bugs you, then by all means get them fixed. My nose bugged me all my life and I had it fixed 33 years ago. Gone was that daily aggravation of looking in the mirror and hating my nose. It was a simple, in office procedure that back then cost about $700. My dad chipped in half because it was his nose I inherited!

Before I had it done, people would say I looked just fine but if I wanted to do it, they supported me.

I can honestly say I've never once given a second thought to a man's ears.

But like others have said, if you do it, do it for yourself... because you want it and it will make you feel better. Do it because you want to see that change in yourself. Then you will be happy with the results.

Don't do it to attract women (basically do it for others) because if you think that kind of change will make a big difference, I think you will end up being disappointed and unhappy with the results.

Thanks for the input so far. I was teased pretty bad as a kid until my parents finally let me grow my hair longer as a teen. but now it is quite short so the ears are like , BAM ! the first thing people see.
Like I said I have a thin build and thin face even though I work out and stay in good shape. I have started to do some online dating and want to look the same in my photos as in person. I have some decent photos but always turn my head a bit so the shape of my ears aren't so obvious.
I already talked to a plastic surgeon and it will run about 5K total to have it done. I plan to call around more and get references from some people I know.
Still open to more opinions and ideas .... ??

we need a picture before we can say

don't do anything unless there is a problem, and you need some opinions before you can determine that

at the end of the day if it really bothers you then your opinion is all that matters

Agree with this.

I'll also add this tidbit...I worked with a girl who used to complain about her nose. I never really noticed her nose much, until she kept pointing it out, of course everytime I looked at her after that I couldn't help but look at her nose. NEVER draw attention to your "flaws". Most of the times it's a flaw to you, but someone else wouldn't even notice it.

If it makes you self-conscious and you've taken a long time to think about it, then I don't see any harm in getting it done.
