Thought I would add to the recent bit of threads on tattoos and thong underwear.
What compels a woman to get ink done on her lower back? I've dated a couple of ladies with tramp stamps ranging in size from the almost unnoticeable to the absolute can't miss.
Do guys like them? Do guys get them done too?
I saw a young girl tramp stamped with a huge tattooed phallus with skulls and chains pointing downward between her cheeks! Scared the crap outta me! Subliminal message maybe? What's up with that? Is it a sexual thing ladies? I'd be too afraid of laughing at it and losing blood flow if you know what I mean. Almost did one time but I closed my eyes and got through the night.
I also wonder if I'm treading on murky territory using the word tramp in this situation here? You just don't know who's gonna get offending and what lies waiting in the mailbox......
The lower back is an excellent choice for a tattoo. The skin doesn't change much, even with weight gain, weight loss, or pregnancy, there isn't much movement there for a tattoo to distort (like having a tattoo on your arm and you twist your arm...it distorts the image) and it's a relatively flat and decently large area to get a tattoo.
From an anatomical perspective, the mid to lower back is one of the choicest areas to get a tattoo. There are some women who get it because it makes them feel sexy, but for the most part it seems to be an aesthetically pleasing place to put a tattoo. For the record, I don't have one so I really have no pony in this race.

For one thing, probably the fact that it's both easy to conceal and expose, depending on one's desire at the moment. You can easily keep it covered if you choose to, but also display it if you choose to without having to perpetrate indecent exposure.

No, you just sound like someone using an overused and dated term. They're just tattoos, nothing more, nothing less. The presence or lack thereof really doesn't correlate to promiscuity.
It was a trend in 2005. Now they're all regretting it 8 years later.
I got mine in 2006. I got the one in between my shoulderblades four years before that. I regret neither, still love them both.
I'm a nerdy, bookish teacher. I like that I'm "not the tattoo type," yet have them. There is no tattoo type.
I've been in two long-term relationships since getting them. Neither guy had any tattoos. One never would, didn't care for them, but said he didn't care about mine one way or the other. The other has been in the military for a dozen years, has never gotten one, and is considering getting his first. He's not really "the type," either. I didn't get mine to impress guys, I got them because I like them.

Though there is no way to prove it, I'd bet you are wrong about that.
Most girls raised to be ladies are not going to wind up with tats anywhere, much less large visible tramp stamps. Just as women can dress like a **** to attract a certain type of attention, so too do women get permanent tats for the same reason. Try looking at strippers and porn stars these days and all you will see are tats, pierced tongues etc. I imagine street walkers also have them, but I wouldn't know.
These certainly are not Amish, Mormon or other religious or properly raised women.
