Been looking for these type of casual dresses that were everywhere during the mid to late 80's
and can't find them anywhere. Andie McDowell wore some in the film Green Card. The link
below is an example but they came in subtle prints (not a fan of the pattern or color on the link).
Do this type of dress exist anywhere?

Of course on the link the one I like is $500.00. I've seen many of the others which are either spandex or cotton
and are tight fitting and are geared towards younger girls or women. Been to Macy's, Target, Norstrom, Kohl's
and other stores but can't find rayon in that style. Do appreciate the link.

I found some possibles on the Norm Thompson site. If you like the style, but don't have to have the length, then I sound some possibles on the North Style site. I think maxi dresses are considered summer style, and there probably won't be as much to choose from as we move toward cooler weather.

And I seem to remember that long dresses were popular in the late nineties. You could check out thrift stores. There might be some good finds for you there. The thing is the same style never comes back the same way.

Oh! Check out the Orvis site too. It seems to me they just revisited their old patterns and reissued them this year.

^^^This is pretty close to the style I mentioned. I wish I could find these in stores so that I could try the dresses on
since sizes vary (ordered clothing online and usually had to send it back). Thanks. I'll keep looking around.
BTW, I have checked some nice vintage shops but the dresses are usually 70's polyester (which I didn't buy
then when I was a teenager).

You can use the size charts that are available with every offering online to choose the closest size to you. You might check the internet for a coupon, or you might be able to qualify for free shipping if you are a first time orderer. You have to be willing to take a chance with online or mail ordering, but sometimes you can't find something any other way, in my experience. Most places make returns easy now. But you often have to pay the postage. Often the cost is subtracted from the refund.

Would like to thank everyone for the suggestions. Checked out google and several stores online. Was looking for
something with a short sleeve, not spandex or cotton, no belts, no crunching of fabric, no backless and casual.
If I were 25 those might work but I'm not. I'll keep checking and hope they might come back in style. Those
were great for women of all ages and something casual to slip on as well as cute and comfortable to wear.
