Ok, I seem to have this special gift to break purse straps. I know it's because I practically carry my house in my purse. What brand produces strong and sturdy purses that will last? I'm tired of buying new purses all the time.

I'm not really buying a brand right now. I usually get purses from Kohl's and such. I'm thinking maybe some of the higher brands might last longer. I'm not going to spend $1,000 on a purse. A couple of hundred, maybe? I don't like spending that much but I need something that lasts.

I have been very happy with my coach bags and they have lifetime warranties. I only have the leather ones. Kate Spade is decent bet not all bags are created equal. I have some that are holding up great and others that were not dyed in a way so the color lasts. I have a few spots on one bag where the color faded. Kate Spade fashion bags are less durable than the staples.

Michael Kors is decent but has a terrible warranty program.

Fossil is good (not my style). Rural is very good.

Personally I love coach since they have the best customer service. I got a full refund from them when they couldn't repair my bag 2 years later with a small issue. My aunt has had the same daily driver coach bag for about 15 years now. It might be older and closer to 25. It is her only purse.

I hear good things about Dooney.

The brands above are easy to find for under 300.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

Michael Kors, Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel (right under Hérmes, which is numero uno).

When it comes to high end bags, I really like Valentino, Tom Ford, and Saint Laurent.

Dooney & Bourke are sturdy and only a couple hundred.

I would suggest you hit up your nearest Coach outlet and try to find an all-leather bag in a neutral color.

I have a Louis Vuitton gifted to me from my Dad, and I do not foresee buying a new purse anytime soon. It's a worthy investment that fortunately I did not have to make, but I don't think I could downgrade at this point!

Ya know I never saw any draw to designer names until I was given a Coach purse as a gift. I always got my purses at Kohls and the like as well, and didn't see the point to getting something expensive when I figured the less pricey ones were just fine. Wrong! I don't know how I lived without my Coach purse. I now have a second one, because I got it second hand and I like the design better than the original one that was given to me. That one is still in good shape, and I'd still be using it if I hadn't had the opportunity to get the one I use now at a good price.

So yes, I agree with the suggestions for Coach. Nice, high quality, and definitely worth the investment for something we use every single day.

A bit "off the wall" suggestion is to check out the Magellan web-site for their slash-proof travel handbags. The Vaultpro models have a cut-proof steel cable reinforced shoulder strap. More functional than designer in looks, they would certainly solve the broken purse strap problem - lol! They come in several styles, sizes, and colors.
