I would say thank you and that's it. But I don't really think it would proper for a man to say that to a young girl.

Um she was in her 20s. Are you saying that compliments wait till women hit menopause? Sheesh.

Lol... And as far I know, 20 years old is not a minor. I think we have this distorted judgement about 'older guys' acknowledging a younger woman's appeal. I am more attracted to women closer to my age. But I dont judge other men as pervy if they're interested in younger women of legal age either.

It's funny how a thread like this can kind of evoke deep thoughts....I mean, it's kind of silly, isn't it...that people have to THINK about whether it's okay to pay someone a compliment!

Jeez, people can't even ACCEPT a compliment, without analyzing it for a damn month. The people who compliment others, have to weigh in on whether it's worth it to compliment someone...for fear of being thought a weirdo.

You look really nice

Thank you

You have the most beautiful hair.

Thank you so much! What a nice thing to say!

You do the most beautiful job with your makeup!

Well, thank you!

OMG!

I don't even understand the question. Isn't that the whole idea of wearing scent, you wanna smell good?

It's a ridiculous question. If she doesn't want people to say she smells good, then quit wearing scent. You must have had a very hard time raising this person, if this has you stumped.

To me it was an odd way of giving a compliment, just because of the "Good Lord" part. "Good Lord," in my experience, precedes something bad, like "Good Lord, look at this traffic," or "Good Lord, how does he keep his droopy drawers from falling all the way down."

"Good Lord, you look beautiful!" Hmmmm........nope, just doesn't sound right to me. (emphasis on "TO ME")

She was at least 20 years old... not 12 years old. Compliments are not proper?
