Don't know what to tell you. I just checked, and every single hole in my ear is still fully functional, and the piercings are over 15 years old...I last wore jewelry in them over a year ago...there are pictures taken of me in July of 2012 where I'm wearing a series of small hoops in them, and that would be the last time I wore anything in them. They're fine, though, and the holes really aren't noticeable.

It's hard for me to think that anybody would consider just plain old ear piercing to be crazy or edgy or "out there." I'm not talking stretching/gauges, I'm just talking plain, old, vanilla earring-sized ear piercings. Even multiple ones. It's just not anything I'd consider envelope-pushing. Geez, even my born-in-1918 grandmother had pierced ears. Just a pretty routine thing, IMO.

Thanks a million!!

I will contact a piercing place, and pierce one ear first!
Oh yeah. Meant to say. Take a photo of what you eventually want with you. That way, they can place that first one correctly, and work off of that hole for the others (assuming you get all the way up to 7 - ouch!). I know when I got my third one, the person who did it said the way the first two were pierced, that the third wouldn't quite line up right. But then, when I got the first set, no one did double piercings (gawd, I think I was in elementary school, lol). And when I got the second, no one did triple. LOL. I feel old now.

Anyhow. Good luck. Definitely do your research on whichever piercer you choose to go with (even my recommended Outer Limits).

I have couple of questions.

a. In the future, in case I change my mind, do all these holes close up? (I am thinking about getting 7 on my left ear only)

b. For a very athletic girl like myself, would I get infections easily because of these piercings? (I do sweat a lot when I play sports)

Here is the picture, this is the look I like

Awesome Multiple Ear Piercings For Girls
It looks trashy, don't do it.

To add to it, DH has tats from his shoulder down to his forearm and he is extremely conservative, well traveled and smart as hell.

Do some of these people never travel or get out?
"Well traveled, conservative and smart" doesn't always mean one makes good decisions or has common sense.

No. Teachers who lack common sense and good decision making.

Again, wearing earrings is somehow indicative of this? Not really.
