I've used it as a toner, but honestly I think toning is not necessary. Witch Hazel is too harsh for my skin. I could not use it daily. It is a pleasant product, though.

Witch Hazel isn't the most pleasant of smells, not hurl worthy awful, just not something you want to have linger under your nose. You could add some rose water, but I'd just leave it alone, hold your breath and apply, the scent dissipates shortly after you apply it, so not worth messing with what ain't broke IMO.

Sometimes, for me, the scent is more noticeable than other times, but more often than not, I don't note it. I probably don't often notice because there are other, nicer scented smells going on about the bathroom when I'm applying the WH

My first experience with witch hazel was a very nasty haemorrhoid that came out of nowhere.

Witch hazel was the only thing that killed the pain. Brilliant stuff.

For the one with the smelly witch hazel - just get a new bottle. It might have gone off and its so cheap anyway.

yeah, every vanity cabinet should have a big bottle of witch hazel. I use it for sooooo many things. It seems to equalize the PH of the skin after shaving, for example. It also seems to work for swelling. Saturate a couple of cotton pads, squeeze out excess so they're not dripping, lay down and place one pad on each eye. Just relax and let it relax and invigorate your skin.

I also shave my arms and spray on the witch hazel afterwards. My arms look very smooth and pretty afterwards.

too many other uses to list....
