Okay this is going to be the undershirt issue revisited. Do you realize how ridiculous you look with a t shirt sticking out of your polo collar, or the outline of a wifebeater under your dress shirt? There is no reason to worry about "too much chest hair" unless you have unbuttoned THE FIRST FOUR buttons. I realize many many people do this but I think it is a ridiculous look, and doesn't look very "proper."

V-neck, lets you go unbuttoned without the collar being visible. Wear a coat, you should be anyway. If you're just wearing a button down you can probably get away with a sports shirt in a darker, more patterned fabric that's not going to show your undershirts anyway. It'll look better than the weird "I forgot half my suit at my mom's house but I'm still wearing a boring white dress shirt anyway" look as well.

My grandfather wore the "tank" undershirts for years they are NOT called "wifebeaters" they are TANK Undershirts.
Anyway, back to your original question, why in hades would you care what someone wears? If they are comfortable it is their choice to wear them.
Does this keep you awake at night worrying about men wearing undershirts?
Is there some law about having 4 buttons not buttoned?
Are you the official fashion police?
Are you going to start tearing shirts off of mens backs because they have on an undershirt?
Seek professional therapy for your undershirt obsession, mind your own fashion business, find a new hobby.

People do those terrible things just to irritate you. They want to irritate you out of jealousy that you know so much about the truly important things in life. If people had any real class they would prostrate themselves at your feet and implore you to enlighten them. But no, some people persist in their stubbornness and pigheadedness. Just as well though; if everyone followed your advice, how would you be able to feel so superior?

Exactly. Undershirts allow your dress shirts and polos to be worn muliple times before laundering. My shirts last YEARS instead of just one season due to being over washed.

I'm too damn old to care about "fashion". I appreciate comfort. Get over it.
I wear a roundneck white undershirt under dress shirts and polo shirts and vneck sweaters. that's basically my repertoir other than plain t shirts, and of course i don't wear the white undershirt under T shirts.
my wife has been commenting that it doesn't look classy for years but i keep doing it. not to spite her but you know...because i don't like the fabric of these shirts touching up against my skin which is irritating. also to cover my nipples when wearing light colored shirts. and even when wearing dark shirts, the shape can stick out.
i guess i could go the vneck undershirt route but you can see the outline of the shirt which doesn't make it look too natural either.
