Meh, bangs aren't my style, but if a girl is cute, then the type of hair style she has has little impact. Natalie Portman is hot with or without hair, for example.
Oh, come on. Do you honestly believe that ALL women should avoid bangs because they ALWAYS look worse than not having bangs?
And bangs aren't just for hiding an ugly forehead, or wrinkles, or roots, or other problems. Sometimes just the cut itself is more attractive than not having bangs. Like I said, I've had bangs for much of my life, but I've tried other styles. I always come back to the bangs, because..well, they're just cuter on me.
And I hate to brag, but I really do have good hair.
But don't take my word for it - let's look at some pictures from a program I used when I was trying to decide on a hair style and color a few years ago. My face is superimposed on other necks and with other hairstyles (cool program by the way - it was a lot of fun!).
Me without bangs:
Note the perfectly normal forehead, by the way - LOL. But also, please note how round my face is naturally.
No bangs, long hair. OMG. Ridiculous looking!
No bangs, straight dark hair. Ugh.
Now, these are actual photos with my real hair, as I explored different styles and colors over about a year:
Then:
Wearing me out...hadn't found the right combo yet. So I went to this:
Almost there but not quite! Finally, about a year later, I went back to what was very nearly the style I actually started out with! Which is this:
I can use the flat iron and make that style look like this:
MUCH better with bangs than without! At least that's the opinion of all my friends and family, who suffered along with me on my hair adventures! LOL
The last few days of this thread give me a special mix of frustration and boredom. Here it is - bangs are more likely to shrink sex appeal than to boost it, and heterosexual men are better judges of women's sex appeal than are heterosexual women.
Differences in sexiness in hairstyles are like differences in sexiness between faces. Both can be attractive technically/geometrically, yet one look clearly is sexier than the other. Pictures & Photos of Frankie Muniz - IMDb Henry Cavill - IMDb
I'd say bangs are overdone because of the style leaders who (thanks to face, makeup, etc.) can do it with hardly a dent in their sex appeal.

I just watched high-def porn, and I watched thoughtfully for the sake of hair/beauty research. It turned out to be rather realistic porn, in terms of plot and actor attractiveness. Nobody fake-looking or bombshell, just a bunch of moderately attractive young white people well-matched in facial attractiveness, couples porn. Multiple bangs featured. Including the hair kind It's a recent movie, and if bangs are now in pornos, the trend is major. A red-head and a dark brunette had them. As usual, I thought the red bangs were better. However, later on, the brunette is shown without bangs, and her face looks better without. That's when I realized why. All the women featured had pretty (but not perfect) skin, and hers probably was the best, due to the high contrast between her hair and clear, fair skin (like a naturally brunette version of Katy Perry in "California Girls" and so on). So any man who likes it - and I think most men and women agree that KP looks better as a bottle brunette - misses out when a major part of the face is covered by bangs. You're welcome.

Bangs are not a trend. They have been around for a very, very long time and I don't see them going away any time soon. You can watch porn from the 70s, and the women will have bangs. This is not a new phenomenon.

I think bald on women, Amber Rose style, is HOT.
I want that when I get old. Either a shave do or a long wild out of control bush...not sure which yet.
Yes, I know bangs have been around for a long time. But by "trend," I mean the popularity is peaking. Maybe, given the current 70's retro fascination, they were as popular in that decade - I wasn't paying attention then.
Anyway, I'm trying to understand why I so dislike straight, blunt bangs on dark-haired white women. Besides age associations, it might be due to a sense of unnaturalness. The combination of darkness and straight hair seems fake on many white women. And how can hairs be all the same length and hang perfectly straight down? That last issue is less noticeable with lighter hair colors.
