I've been thinking about this for about two months. Bangs don't look good. On men, they look stupid, most people would agree. On women, sometimes they look okay but never good and too often bad.

Bangs seem to be a trend on women, maybe a hipsterish trend. I struggle to understand. Is it about hiding something negative about the forehead? Is it an ease of care thing?

When bangs reach the eyebrows, that is just wrong probably all the time. Also, I think bangs are more tolerable with blonde hair, because they blend with the skin and don't get much attention. But I can't think of anyone whose most attractive hairstyle would be bangs. Do any men think bangs look great on women?

I'll have to tell my 72 year old Mother who has bangs that she is now a "hipster".

It is hair that that has been styled the way preferred by the one whose head the hair is attached to and it is or should not be anyone else's concern how one style's the hair not attached to their own head.

Oh, brother - bangs look good on some people and bad on some people. That's it - that's my take on bangs.

Personally I look MUCH better with bangs than with no bangs. Bangs go well with the shape of my face. They always have. (And my hair is dark, too - not blonde.)

Go figgur!

Bangs do look good on some people.

They hide wrinkles on foreheads, and make roots less obvious when it's time for a touch-up.

It really depends on the individual. Bangs look great on many women and some men. It's all about the shape of the face, and how the bangs shape the face. Bangs can do wonders for some plain-jane women. It's impossible to generalize. Some men LOVE bangs on women! They say bangs add a soft, feminine touch.

I knew she'd come up. Zooey has looked a bit better without bangs (though the picture below might be from her 20's).

Exactly, it depends on a woman's facial features, hair type, etc.

Your bangs are attractive on you, for example.

I used to have a fringe when I was a teenager, suited me then, not now , Im horrible with my hair pulled down at the front.. better soft and brushed back a bit..much more flattering for an older face , but some older women do suit them...

blehblehbleh Bobs look horrible on some people, long stringy hair looks horrible on some people, pixie cuts look horrible on some people. As said before, it all depends on your features, face shape, and style.
