EXACTLY! I wouldn't pay that much for cashmere, much less some cotton from a trendy company.

I've had ON sweaters that have lasted me a long time (I like their cardigans). And I've gotten more expensive brands that didn't last.

If price point is what is holding you back and there is a cheaper substitute, why not? I've noticed my taste and preferences in clothing usually changes before I get rid of things due to wear and tear. Maybe I am just more careful with my things...

I would spend that much on an item of clothing if I really liked it and thought I could get a lot of use out of it, but I would echo what the others said and question how long the sweater is likely to last, and whether I couldn't find something similar without the brand name for a lower price. I find that most sweaters, no matter how carefully I launder them, don't look great indefinitely. When I compare that to a nice jacket or coat that I might be able to wear for 10+ years, it puts into perspective what I would be willing to cough up that much money for.

Wow, that's a nice lookin' sweater! I do have to agree with the other posters that at that price point should be wool or cashmere. But on the other hand, if you can afford it, you only live once

I think it's too pricey. Old Navy? I have sweaters I bought from them in classic styles and I will be wearing them again this year as I have the past few years.

I like it, but I own a much nicer one with slightly smaller diamond patterns in four subtle colors. Mine is soft Merino wool, feels like cashmere.

I found mine in a second hand consignment (thrift) store but it was in absolutely new condition ... I paid either $6 or $7 dollars for it.

Yeah for cotton, I wouldn't pay for it. Maybe you can find another brand with a similar design.
