They would also clog pores and cause break outs - the coconut oil has never caused any reaction because it soaks in so well and is so light. I don't think I will ever try anything else after switching to coconut oil; I have found it to be that good. It also makes a wonderful moisturizing base for liquid makeup. Like anything, you just have to be sure to start with a small amount, and work your way up to the amount you need.
I'd like to give coconut oil a try. My skin is getting dryer now that I'm 50 and body lotions don't seem to do the trick. Which brand of coconut oil do you use? Is it the solid form or liquid?

I, too, use coconut oil and love it! I use Nutiva Organice Extra Virgin Cold Pressed. It comes in a tub and can be used for cooking as well. It's a saturated fat so it's solid but but becomes liquid as soon as it hits your skin. Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and has so many uses. Good stuff!
