The normally vicious, hateful Maureen Dowd of The New York times wrote an article about Robert Redford. Mr. Redford, 77, seems completely comfortable with his life and his looks:

Which leads me to wonder: a man of Redford's wealth could easily afford the finest surgery in the world. Why do some stunning beauties like Redford stay natural, while others seem to go under the knife on a monthly basis?

You're welcome. Redford's a pretty philosophical guy - I was very amazed by his outlook. I hope others enjoy the article as well.

I was especially taken by this paragraph:

Quote:
“I’m interested in that thing that happens where there’s a breaking point for some people and not for others,” he said over morning coffee recently in the deserted Owl Bar at his resort here. “You go through such hardship, things that are almost impossibly difficult, and there’s no sign that it’s going to get any better, and that’s the point when people quit. But some don’t.”
He's a fascinating man.

I think he looks terrible. Extreme sun damage like that is not "natural" and is not attractive.

Actually, he looks like Robert Redford. He was never all that great looking but the movie camera loved him. Outdoors and without makeup he wasn't ever all that much, just extremely photogenic. In the above shot he looks his age only with more hair than most. Heaven forbid it should happen to you (sans the hair).

He lives up to that adage of being comfortable in his own skin!

He is a talented dude and a fine actor, and a rare one with no self-image issues

I saw him on the Today Show yesterday and I actually thought he looked great. I think he aged well and seems to be really comfortable and confident in his own skin.

Agreed.

I am refreshed by him not doing what so many men in Hollywood and film do these days.
When I see fine actors succumb to face tightening, hair plugs, Botox, I kind of lose a bit of respect for their work.
he looks like a man who has lead an incredible life.

I think he looks just fine, especially for 77! I too agree with those who find it refreshing that he hasn't done all sorts of weird things to himself to try to look younger. I have not seen even ONE celebrity who I think looks better for having "work" done!

More people should accept aging gracefully and have his attitude!
