yep, this is why i have a beard 4-5 months out of the year.

any men that think beards are ugly probably can't pull off the look or can't grow one at all.

and the women that hate beards probably go for the prettyboy, justin bieber types that either look like preppy teenagers or lesbians.

Most of the guys in my family either have 'mountain man' beards and/or moustaches. They always have had so I'm used to them. I don't know how my women friends feel about beards. It's not something we even think about, much less talk about. lol Plenty of guys at work have them. Some neat and clean looking and some kinda 'scraggly' but the latter don't work one on one with customers, as a rule.

My ex couldn't grow a beard to save his life. I think because he had enough Native American in his genes to make it hard to do. You rarely ever see a Native American with a 'real' beard around here. Some wispy stuff is about all.

A nicely trimmed beard is fine. But when they go past a certain length, then it starts going into ugly territory and it looks ridiculous. It makes me wonder what the hell a guy is hiding under his beard, if it gets too long.

hunter/gatherer scruffy he-man on top half
not so manly on bottom

There is a very simple reason why I have a beard: I hate shaving!
Therefore, when I retired and no longer had anybody telling me I HAD to shave, I quit doing it.
I do not wear neckties, either. What a ridiculous custom, tieing a noose around your neck!

I can't stand those gigantic ones...then again, it isn't my face, I don't have to deal with it so I'm nobody to say. It's up to a man what he does with his own face.

But I will say those little beards drive me crazy and in a good way. I've probably said that a million times on here already, but in case anyone missed it...

I am from the 1980s. Plenty of us grew beards then. I am glad to see it is making a comeback the past few years. Not Civil War general length but more like Steve Reeves or a good Blackbeard type imitation.

If you are not grey it looks great with a wild set of scalp hair. Some women love it. Well the beard can bit itchy I am told...you know.

Beards look hilarious (and ridiculous) on younger dudes, imo.

They look like crap on most older dudes too, btw...
