Why is it taboo for older ladies to wear headbands and pink?
I am no fashion plate, occasionally I wear a skirt, denim of course, but were mostly jeans and a nice shirt, but what's with the "rules" about what older ladies can wear?
I have no problem with headbands or any colors being worn by older women, but I can think of quite a few other things that should be forbidden. It is more about body type than age.
Since someone mentioned short skirts, I do not think they look appropriate on older women, even when the legs are still good.
My mother would never have worn pastels after she was 80. She usually wore dark or light gray and black, often with red or other bright color. accessories. She said pastels made her feel old. She lived to 97.
I would feel like an idiot with a headband. A dress I wear occasionally stops in the middle of my kneecap.

I would rather see a short skirt on an older woman with nice legs than on a younger woman with horrible legs.
I think it should be more about what looks good on you than what age you are.
Older women no longer have to dress like grandmas.....gray hair and dowdy clothes no longer required.
It looks worse seeing young women wear fashions that they have no business wearing, IMO.
As I've aged, my skirts have voluntarily become longer; it's just what I feel comfortable in. As for colors, my skin tone is complimented by bright hues - even pink! That may not always be the case, so I will adjust accordingly. And I'm actually thinking about getting some great headbands from Duluth Trading. I believe they even have one that repels insects. You've really got to experiment as time goes on, and if YOU like what you see, (and it fits), wear it with no apologies.

Um. . . please define 'older women'. When I was 20 I thought that 50 was getting old and that 60 was old! Well, I'm in my late 60s, and and I'm not old!
