I am not talking about security tag. I bought an expensive jacket the other day. It is the plastic string that holds the cardboard / paper price tag that usually goes through the fabric. Instead of doing that, the store uses a machine so that “the T shape” of the plastic string is embedded in between the layers of the jacket. Does any of you guys have a tip how to retrieve it – just out of curiosity; instead of just leaving it inside?

I don't attempt to 'retrieve' anything embedded... just clip it as close as possible.

If you can find the ends with your fingers, squeeze it tightly down towards the side of the plastic string -- as in don't squeeze the T top together, fold it.Sometimes you can then wiggle it out through the original hole, without causing more damage. Man -- I just hate it when they do that.

Thanks Tallysmom. Yeah I am glad I am not the only one who hates it. I will try your tip. I did try it by folding both tip of the T's but it did not work. I will try your way.
Tinytrump: Hmmm so they are being embedded during the fabric construction? That make sense...

If I could feel the tag or I thought it would bother me, I would return the jacket to the store and exchange for another way. No sense in having an imperfection in a new and expensive item.
