Shows photos of twins. One twin smoked longer than the other or one smoked and the other didn't. Considering the age of the twins in the photos, whether or not they smoked, they were exposed to smoke filled rooms in their lives. But it's very telling to see the difference in wrinkles between the twins.

Yep...smoking and heavy drinking/drug use ages the body inside and out. I'm so glad I never got into the habit.

In the age of political correctness where one can't even mention race unless they're a minority, men can't even hint about a woman doing housework lest he be labeled a misogynist, so why's it ok to gloat because one doesn't smoke or drink?

If you chose not to smoke or drink I think that's pretty darn laudable, but all these anti smoking/drinking campaigns and threads in 'Merika is sickening. If you bought into the second hand smoke myth, I feel sorry for you.

Most of why you'll look good into your old age will be based on genetics. Can you precipitate aging, I'm sure you can, but the lion's share of it will all boil down to your genetic code. As far as the Faux News thread, it's just more klassikal konditioning. We have no proof that they are indeed twins, have smoked, one quit sooner than the other, or one smoked while the other didn't. Moreover, we don't know any external factors like work, chemical exposure, and sun that these people have been exposed to over the years. Different lighting, air brushed photos, make up, and plastic surgery will all affect how they look, and we do not know any or all variables surrounding these alleged advanced aging smoking phauxtos. This is hardly conclusive proof. Furthermore, I've seen quite a few 40+ year old heavy drinkers and smokers who still looked considerably younger than their age.

The first thing I ask myself when I read a "study" is "Who paid for this?" If I follow the money trail, it's usually somebody who'll benefit from the study, so the findings are obviously biased. This seems like klassikal konditioning and konfirmation bias to me.

Thanks for reading,
bolillo

exactly.
my father is 87, was a everyday smoker, has only thinning hair now, and no wrinkles, us greek men age well.

while I am not a smoker, I do not believe in all the second hand smoke BS. After being around a family in the 60-70's, of constant smoke, as everyone smoked, everywhere, if I didn't die from it then, im still here....

I dont know why anyone smokes anymore when they can vape it a safe alternative and cheaper too.

It so awesome my clothes do not smell like smoke and I use the re-chargeables and 5 cartridge which costs 10 bucks last me a month.

There is excellent thread on e-cig brands in the shopping forum.

what makes you think inhaleing vapors is safe?

there are probably ten thousand different chemicals in the vapor than a cig.

better off with the marlboro, e cigs have not been out that long to 'claim" they are safe.

chew a piece of gum.

My mom smoked for about 20 years. She looks pretty young. I already know I have young genes. But I do think it is a good idea to skip smoking. Whether it ages you or not.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

My mom smoked, looked old and haggard by her 40s and died of lung cancer at 58.

That's enough to convince ME not to smoke!!!

Smoking and abundant drinking/drug use ages the physique central and out. I'm so animated I never got into the habit.
