Why do women confuse lumps and rolls with curves? They are not the same thing.
NOW! Thank YOU!
They are certainly not. This is a particularly common misconception in the region I reside in. I have an hourglass figure, and I've been called "bony". Not good.
The women I see described as "thick" generally are heavier/larger but firm and toned, versus jiggly. Along the lines of Serena Wiliams' thighs (not her build overall, though, necessarily). In fact, I've more often heard it being applied to particular body parts than an individual's whole body...and, it seems to be almost exclusively in the African American vernacular.
Maybe that was the original intent of "thick" but it has become synonymous with significant excess body weight. And it's not toned, as in the person making an effort to stay fit, it's just tightly packed. It is definitely a term used among a very specific demographic.
I am tall AND curvy, as in curves NOT chunk. I am 1/2 Brasilian and I've inherited hips and a bum..I will never be the tall, willowy woman. My hips will never be less than 36", my legs are curvy, and I have far too much ass for a size 6 these days. I wouldn't want it any other way. Women need to love who they are, period.
That is what I think of as curvy too.
If you look closer, you can see she has cellulite. Curvy has nothing to do with being solid or jiggly.
If seen curvy less "solid"(muscular) women and jiggly women with curves and no rolls.
Come to think of it,it seems most of the athletic women with the six packs have no waistlines.
I guess exercising the stomach makes the muscles on the sides(obliques) push out to give them a square shaped torso.
