I'm glad all of these things came back in style!
I always liked Uggs and I did get myself a black pair while we were still in Colorado, it can sometimes get cold enough here to wear them.
I knew the above came back from then but didn't know about Ugg history. I remember the original Earth Shoes that were thicker in the front and the heel was lower... Their logo was "Keep on Truckin'..."

I love Vintage stuff.

Oh, I love Earth shoes! They are still thicker in the front and lower in the back - even the new ones. That is the best part about them. I also had a pair of Frye boots in the late 70's/early 80's and wish now I had kept them!

As far as Uggs go, I don't own the kind the celebrities wear, the suede kind, but I do own a pair of chocolate brown, polished leather ones with fleece lining. They look nothing like the others and were my warmest boots when I lived in Alaska. Rugged, very cool looking (more like a boot...) and last forever! Even better than my Trukke boots.

I don't have Reef sandals . I have Birkenstocks... I love them though. 3 pair, actually!

Birks rock! I have two pair and they last forever. Most of the year, all I wear is my birks.

I have Reef flip flops in black (most comfortable flip flop I've ever owned) and a few weeks ago I bought some Earth shoes. Expensive, but comfortable. They're sand colored, Mary Jane style. By their construction and design, they force you to stand upright.

I'd love to have a pair of Uggs, and I live in California. But I promise you this. You'd never seen me wearing them with a pair of shorts. Uh uh! (That's teenybopper fashion to me, at least) I see a lot of that pairing around here in public. I mean come on - is it hot enough to wear shorts? But is it cold enough to wear Uggs? How can the two go together? And I see young girls wearing Uggs when it's in the eighties and nineties. But whatever, I guess that's me.

That article--and date--kinda says it all.
Chuck Taylors are another shoe we all wore in high school in the 70s.

I have a pair of Ugg slipons...dark brown leather with lambswool lining...I don't care if they are passe or not...I love my Uggs and will wear them until they fall apart. They are not only comfortable but they keep my feet very warm in the cold MI winters. Well worth the money to me.
