Every morning. Sometimes again in the afternoon if for some reason I'm taking a second shower that day.

The way I see it, having stubble that looks like it needs to be blowtorched off just unnecessarily adds years to my appearance.

When I say I don't need to shave, I meant that I can grow my beard as long as I wish. You're right - shaving is a pain.

Why isn't daily an option?

I have shaved once a day at least since I was about 14, and shave again later in the day if I am going somewhere. That includes my hippy days in college when I had a beard.
Not all males start having facial hair at the same age. Many of us did not have the need to shave daily until AFTER high school. And look at the case of the OP. Because you started shaving at 14 doesn't mean that is a universal pattern.

I am 70 and semi-retired. I shave every day when I am meeting the public in an official capacity, which is normally only three days a week now. I often let it go the other four days. If I am invited to a friend's house for dinner, I normally shave for that too. But I don't really care about what clerks in the grocery store or waitresses in restaurants think. Southern California is pretty permissive.

That's how I intend to be when I'm no longer working full time. As it is now, when I'm on vacation, I shave every third or fourth day. I shave daily for work.

Once a week to twice a week.

Ideally, I might very well like to permanently get rid of all of it, but I am not anywhere close to being rich right now.
