My "village" "township" is so small we don't even have a Jr. High or High School. We got bused in to the next city and integrated with 1,500 students.

I really only like to see guys in cargo shorts. Nothing ill fitting, super tight or baggy, just simple and practical. Some sports an activities excluded.

I'm also old enough to remember guys in short shorts. Their is a scene in Grease showing John Travolta in typical PE attire of the day, and I just saw an episode of Magnum PI that made me giggle.

I think thats one aspect of what the OP was talking about: why the need to giggle or laugh at all?

So I hear nowadays if you wear those to a metro city coastal beach, other men start singing that "we wear short shorts...we wear short shorts yeah" song out loud. lol

You have to find a balance in the middle. Looking like you pooped your pants is equally funny, if not more so. lol

That isnt a new thing. Theyve been doing that since the 90s. Youd think theydve grown up but apparently they passed it on to their kids.

I try to stay about 2-3 inches above the knee and let both extremes get made fun of.

It's a good plan...lol

Should try wearing shorts with one leg at the knee the other at half thigh. Confuse the heck out of people.

Women have been conditioned to not find the male body sexual, seriously. Only buff guys and often ONLY the torso. Why no appreciation for the lower half??

You are too concerned of what others think about you! Conserve your own mental energy and apply it to more meaningful things. Our world is changing rapidly to zero privacy for everyone; not only are we all trackable 24/7 via cameras and GPS devices, but we are recordable and in a not too distant future our thoughts will be recorded and sharable as well. What you are worried about is simply impractical.

This thread however is pretty interesting and I think it was the second response to your initial question which was spot-on... "Brain washing." Ultimately, that's all fashion is, so I wouldn't worry about it.
