I crochet hats for my kids every year, so they get excited about the first cold weather of the season because it means it's time to go to the craft store and pick their yarn.

That's so sweet! You should post pics of the hats.

I am currently typing with my gloves on. Its 37 F, wet, overcast and windy. Snowfall just ended and the low for today is 21 F. Bundle up Jersey folk and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa snuggled up before going to bed.

Snowed here yesterday. Took a while to get the snow off the car at the end of the workday, with 13 degrees this morning and a high of 20 today ...

I'll wait until single digits to wear my goosedown coat and heavy-duty furry boots.

It's been unusually mild. We used to count on the first frost about Oct. 15 but so far so good.

TOMORROW it's supposed to be horrible though and temps will be in the 20s. I'll be wearing gloves for the first time. I may wear a hat today--(good thing for bad hair days).

Friday it's supposed to be back up to 60 so you can't really put your lighter weight clothing away--yet. I bought a few long sleeved tops at L.L. Bean the other day and I have a new down jacket waiting in the closet so I think I'll be ready when it comes.

Spitting snow this morning in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Wife and I went for our usual morning walk, just bundled up a bit. Tonight it will go down into the 20s then for the rest of the week it will warm back up eventually into the 60s so they say.

Mid 50's here later on in the week. After an arctic blast, the mid 50's will feel like T shirt weather. I am also going to my university football game this weekend, and they are predicting 57 F and sunny without wind. Perfect to wear my Scarlet Knight T shirt with pride and boldly yell the fight song while fist pumping .

It's about 33 or 34 here today but should be back up to 50 by Thursday. The wind chill makes it feel much colder. High 40s and low 50s are more normal for November in Mid Maine. I needed gloves first thing this morning and I STILL have bulbs to plant. Oh well I guess I'll do that the end of the week when the temps moderate a bit and the wind isn't blowing.
