Well,no.
Hair grows according to genetics.
Some people, due to genetics, will never have hair down to the butt.
Some people have a longer resting phase and a shorter growing phase.

Regarding thin or thick hair, some people have thin strands, but lots of hair follicles, while others have thick strands but fewer hair follicles.

Nay to the weave. You can't even touch your own scalp!

A friend had it done for years - now she is almost bald. It literally pulled out the roots.

Again - how come you know everything about hair so well? Are you a dr.? Dermatologist?

I think if you cannot keep a job that you should not be spending that kind of money on your hair.
Those things generally look stupid and fake anyway, in my opinion.

That's not true. I've heard women of all races refer to their extensions as weaves.

Also, why are some people dropping the article before "weave"? You "have a weave"; you don't "have weave".

Anyway, I have an irrational fear of extensions because of the Traction Alopecia effect in some women (aka no edges, like Naomi Campbell). I have such thick hair, and I'd be very sad if I lost it. Especially since I'm still young.

Some women have a very hard time growing their hair, and other women choose to get hair extensions because they like that asian/European hair appearance as opposed to their natural ethnic hair's appearance. Other women get them while they're growing their own hair. To each, her own.

What is your obsession with stereotypical urban black culture, OP? I've noticed you like to ask questions about that. This seems to be along that same thought train of yours.

The hair growth cycle consists of three phases: Growth (Anagen), Resting (Telogen) and Shedding (Catagen).

People who have a shorter phase need to focus on preventing breakage (length retention by preventing damage) and lengthening the growth phase (through nutrition)

"What the hell is she doing ?" They told me it is called "tapping the weave" because her head was itching and if she scratches it the weave will pull out !

I don't want to know what was crawling around under there to make her head itch so bad ! Makes me itch even thinking about it.

Don
LOL! Sounds dangerous! How hard was she hitting herself? This type of behavior unfortunately is what makes people think weave is ghetto.

I love my extensions!! I noticed that 90% of the replies are incorrect so I'm not even going to bother correcting them.. To each their own. Weave patting is ghetto and tacky. If your extensions will come out because you itched your scalp then you should fire the person who did your hair.

What about people who want their hair back quickly after Chemo? I have a friend going through something right now and I gave her all my secrets and tips and helped her find a good stylist and she feels so much better with her long hair back ..
