Depends on where you live. When I lived in San Francisco I wore jackets all the time during the summer. It got chilly at night, and even during the day.
Exactly my thoughts, lol. I was living in San Francisco (now in the south bay) until a couple of years ago, so the phrase "summer clothes" is like a foreign language to me.
Even now that I'm living a bit further south, our attire doesn't need to change much throughout the year. Today, for example, it was a beautiful & sunny 65-68F... so I wore jeans, a short-sleeved blouse, and clogs with socks (very chic, I know). It does get a bit hotter in the summer, but I just swap the clogs for sandals and go jacket-less at night. Ahhhh, California.
Back to bulky winter clothes from yesterday onwards . Extremely cold christmas day today here (by NJ standards). The high is just 29 F and right now, its still in the teens. Bundle up and stay warm. I am drinking hot chocolate right now with 3 layers of clothes and socks on . Bedroom as always fails to warm up past 64 F in the morning.
In Oklahoma, you never know. The other day it was seventy. That night it went down to the low twenties and the next night to the teens. I enjoyed not wearing a hoodie all day when it was warm. This year inbetween weather that is supposed to wait until January, we've had really sunny warm days. Then it jumps waaay down. Yesterday it got up to 34 and some of the ice melted off the house. It was a noisy afternoon.
I wear the summer clothes under the winter clothes, given that the summer ones are tank tops mostly, and when its cold you can't have too many layers. I imagine in an area where it gets cold and stays cold in the winter you might get used to it, but when you can go from around the tens to seventy or back in a day just keep both stacks handy.
I wear jeans, shirts/T-shirts and jackets year-round, but I only wear shorts in the spring and summer, so I pick 'frequently'. I prefer T-shirts whatever the weather, even if it's snowing, as long as I have a coat.
I voted "Never" because we live where winter temps are cold and we don't leave. Years ago, we'd take vacations to tropical destinations in the winter so I always kept summer wear handy.
