You could dye it to another color...add jewels, rhinestones, etc....you could layer it over or under other very feminine shirts...or you could accidentally shrink it too small to wear it

I feel the same way about polo's. I have a friend who wears them and she looks cute and sporty and I put one on and bleah! I look like a high-school volley ball coach. NOTHING wrong with that--just not a good look for me. So yeah, ditch them. The same thing will ball caps. I see women in cute ball caps but when I put one on it's awful.

I prefer the V neck t-shirts that Polo makes, I don't care for shirts with a collar anymore for some reason.

It depends on what kind of polo you're wearing-- Some of the bigger (baggier) polos look like work uniforms to me. Especially if you're wearing it buttoned all the way to the collar and tucked into your pants. However, check out some of the 'cuter' fitted polos-- think of the ones they sell at Aeropostale or something similar to that. Wear it fitted, unbuttoned, and with a thin tank top (matching or contrasting color) underneath. I know it's kind of a 'young' look but you get the idea. I have a few of those and I wear them with my corduroy miniskirts and flip flops or with bootcut jeans and open toe heeled sandals. You can try it different styles but in the end, if you're not comfortable with it, it will never work.

Oh come on now - what is so nerdy about that? It's a great look - especially when paired with a belt and suspenders!
