this polo shirt makes me feel like a........
a Lesbian! a butch one too!
my husband picked out a couple of polo shirts fro me and whenever i wear them i feel like a lesbian. it's the strangest thing! now i dont actually start craving women but i dont feel attractive AT all. i especially feel butch if i pair the polo with jeans and i absolutely CANNOT add tennis shoes to this ensemble because then i feel like....yep, there's no mistakin it..........she's a lesbian allright! (this is what i picture people saying about me if i wear the combo of polo, jeans, and sneakers).
so i thought hmmm, maybe if i wear more makeup and jewelry with my polo shirts then i will feel better!! but, still i feel butch. (please dont think im saying that butch lesbians are unattractive but it is just not me.) i am now beginning to suspect that my husband chose these polos for me so that i wouldnt attract any attention from men. any advice about feminizing a polo shirt or combining it with something to make it less butch? if you dont help me then i'll have to burn them.

Are they fitted properly? Are they the correct size?
If they don't flatter you and they can't be returned, then I would burn them. (actually, I would donate them. )

Sounds like they are not your style. I can't wear clothes that feel like they are "not me."

I'd go with your gut instinct on this one... even if they DO look normal on you, look at the workover they are having on your self esteem! People look better in things they are comfortable in. I could wear a trashbag and be radiantly happy, rather than wear . . . . nevermind. Where ever that analogy was going, it just flew out the window.
I say donate them, and stop letting the hubby pick out your clothes? lol

If you don't feel comfortable wearing the polos and they are not "you" then get rid of them and get yourself something you feel comfy in. Just explain to hubby that you realize his intentions were good, but you just aren't a polo shirt kind of gal.

How about with a cardigan type sweater on top - something in the same color family but nor exact match?
