I've seen this elsewhere, and now I'm curious how posters here define the different levels of attractiveness. Free mentioned he uses "hot" to refer to someone's overall being/self.

Attractive
Cute
Pretty
Beautiful
Gorgeous
Stunning
Hot/smokin'
Sexy

For me, they're all interchangeable except "cute", which (for me) describes a specific kind of attractive....think "girl next door".

Attractive: A classic looking appearance

Cute: Smile and eyes

Pretty: sort of a cross between attractive & cute

Beautiful: when you associate how you feel about her thru her presence/mannerisms

Gorgeous: when an attractive/pretty girl dolls herself up to maximize her assets

Stunning: A more elegant/conservative form of gorgeous

Hot/smokin': Sex, sex, sex, sex right now

Sexy: reserved for a combo of getting dolled up and then her carrying herself knowing she's on top of her game

Attractive: I think this is a normal way of saying not ugly. It's a general, overall way to say appealing to the eye.
Cute: I like the cute look. This is a woman who looks great naturally but still has a youthful appearance to her facial structure and for her age. Girl-next-door types and such. Not always easy to find, IMO. More rare than "beautiful," and in some cases personality is also part of the formula. A look for all seasons .
Pretty: Pretty to me is more of a dainty, high-maintenance look. In this context I don't mean that as a negative, just that she's "done-up" a bit; it has more of a sharpness to it, if that makes sense.
Beautiful: Implies a classic, full-woman look. A mature, well-rounded look while remaining feminine. The standard for apexes of beauty, i.e., "now that's a woman!"
Gorgeous: Beautiful + has something extra which stands out.
Stunning: More of a model type of look, I guess.
Hot/smokin': (can be used interchangeably with any of these).
Sexy: Alluring.

Cute usually implies a somewhat child-like look, maybe with an air of innocence (which would be the opposite of "hot"), someone who looks younger than her age, though with attractive features.

I agree with R4T's definition and will add this:

short.

"Cute" used to refer to grown women makes me shudder. I associate "cute" with children or adolescents. I never, ever refer to a grown man as "cute."

One of the "cutest" women I've ever seen called herself "cute, single and educated." She was 32, and a knock-out

...she had a master's degree.
