I wanted to start a topic on various oils I have experimented with for moisturizing and other health benefits for my skin, and would be interested in hearing others reviews as well.

Coconut oil - this is a nice, thick, great smelling oil (organic virgin only) which is wonderful for really dry skin or as a light sunscreen. I found it way too heavy for my face, and it gets in my eyes making them "cloudy" for a long time. For me, I use in the daytime before a bike ride as sunscreen.

Grapeseed oil - a nice, very light oil. Too light for me in fact, so I am only using it as a "carrier oil" for my aromatherapy essential oils

Sweet almond oil - Love this one. A great all around oil. I use this to cleanse my face and remove makeup. Very gentle, gets eye makeup off with ease and doesn't cause "cloudy eye." I also use this to moisturize my legs at night.

Argan oil. Very nice oil with fruity/nutty smell. Great for moisturizing face, neck and a tiny bit on ends of hair. Also good for conditioning eyelashes. This was my favorite until I discovered......

EMU OIL - OMG, this stuff is fantastic! I bought the "refined" type (no smell) from Swanson Vitamins. It is so rich and smooth, my skin feels incredible. You only need a teeny amount of this, a little goes a long way and it absorbs into skin without feeling too greasy. Makes your makeup (if you wear any) just glide right on and look flawless. It is by far the best of all the oils for my face and neck. I am also using it on my arms and chest to improve skin tone there, and it seems to be working. Yes, it is pricey, but if it works well is worth every dime. It really is no more expensive than the argan oil, maybe even a bit less.

So, tell me, what have you used and how has it worked for you?

Emu oil was given to my 2 year old son back in 1998 for his severe eczema and worked very well. I remember a little went a long way.
I use jojoba oil after my shower on skin and a tad bit massaged into scalp after I get out of the shower.
It's funny if you look at a lot of the organic skin creams and lotions almost all of them are a combination of different oils. It should be something that we can all make for ourselves and save a bunch of money!
