Every day there is a new thread up with "instructions" from men for women on what shoes to wear, what clothes to wear, hair styles, makeup, purses, body shape and proportions......

Are we, as adult women, incapable of making clothing and appearance decisions without male input? Is everything we do appearance wise supposed to be seen through a male appraisal lens?

I'm all for women deciding for themselves on all of this. That doesn't mean I don't have preferences for what looks good to me. I know, I know you don't care what I or any man thinks. Fine but we can still express our opinions here.

Maybe they want a dress code?

No idea, but one thing I am certain of is that women for the most part know FAR more about fashion and fashion sense than I do.

You should. Maybe then so many of you wouldn't be single.

"What is the weird obsession with men telling women how to look?"

Control freaks.
And usually, they are not good-looking themselves....

It's called "Making Money" for the fashion industry.
It's one of those things that seems to feed on itself. If no one cared how someone dressed......there would be a lot of pitiful people out of work.

No idea. There's usually a thread every day by an insecure man asking women to tell him what to wear as well. It's a two-way street and I don't get it in either direction.

Opinions are fine... there seems too be war too much moving over to the "I expect you to be this way side..."

There is a huge difference between:
"I love seeing women in a great skirt and heels" vs "I don't know why women don't wear a skirt and heels all the time, that is the way they are most attractive. Women who don't dress like that look hideous"

The reoccurring theme seems to be that some male posters think women are dressing mainly to try to attract/please men, so they want to give us advice on all this. They think they are helping. I have never dressed to try to please a man, so I cannot relate to these threads. I only dress to please myself.
