Absolutely false. People gain weight (fat) based on genetics, it's different for each person. That's why you see people with all different shages (apples, pears, etc.). There is NO way to change how weight gets distributed on your body. You CAN change the shape of your body, if you are carrying excess weight, by burning off calories and turning your body into a leaner physique. But you can never change how YOUR body distributes it.

That used to be true but with the advent of liposuction, those people who have had lipo cannot gain weight back where the fat cells were lipo'd out -- but if they do gain weight, they gain it in places where, before the operation, they would not gain. So, someone gets their saddlebags sucked away, and suddenly they're getting back fat where they had never gained before; someone sucks out the excess belly pooch and the fat gain migrates to their rear end or their upper arms or under their chin, etc.

I think the tight corsets that worked so well in those "historic" days were because women started wearing them early in life. It was preventive. I can't imagine it working once you've already got pudge around the waist.

They probably work better when worn early in life, but Kim K seems to use one with success (maybe post-pregnancy things are more flexible) and I believe so does Nicki Minaj. This month the Doctors TV show did a segment about corsets, which of course focused on dangers, but Dr. Rachel said her mom (a doctor's wife) made her wear one as a teen and it seemed to give her a permanent narrow waist.

Re changing weight distribution, it can be done by changing hormone levels, if they're off much. Diet can help with that.
