I don't wear hose anymore and I don't know anyone who does. I also work in a professional environment and NEVER see hose anymore. I'd say you're absolutely fine without them.
However, do whatever YOU ARE comfortable with, not what anyone tells you...if you feel better wearing them, then go ahead.
I guess I've worn pants for SO long, that when I'm in a dress I feel weird without hose. It doesn't help that my legs are so white, they can be seen from outer freakin' space. I mean glow in the dark white.
I still wear hose. My legs are not great looking because of a skin disorder. If I am wearing a black skirt, I wear sheer black hose. I see a lot of women who have no business going bare legged- I blame Anna Wintour of Vogue for pioneering this mess.
I see your point, but too many women are too fixated on following the trend of bare legs or whatever the current trend may be that they frequently look atrocious instead of trying to look nice and/or professional.
Your choice should still come down to what you feel comfortable in while meeting with those two gentlemen in deciding how to present yourself to them.
You know your company's culture, so follow your instincts.

Call me old-fashioned but I think it looks gross also. I went to my BILs office one day and was shocked at what I saw. The men are in full suit and tie, the women in short sleeved dresses, no panty hose. Are there different standards for men? Should they be able to just dress down?
Their legs did not look good without hose. You could see hair follicles and tan lines.
Wearing hose, especially nude, is very out of style. I, for one, despise hose. I wore them for 12 years as a flight attendant, navy blue only, and am so glad that I am now an RN.
My personal opinion is that if you *must* wear hose, please no nude or white.
If I were still living in the Midwest I wouldn't have any questions about hose but I am in Florida now and trying to fit it. I haven't lived here long enough to make many friends and I really appreciate all of the responses. I would like to ask a more specific question. If I were going to a wedding reception or out to dinner and was wearing a knee length dress and pumps (I don't own dress sandal because I have wide feet that hang over the sides) is it age appropriate to not wear hose if I don't feel like it? I feel like I could maybe get away with it if I were in my 40's instead of 50's. I am a bigger lady. (we're talking Queen size pantyhose) but my legs are very tan and most people think I am in my 40's.
